Anantnag Police solves burglary case, 02 arrested, stolen jewellery recovered

February 15: Police in Anantnag solved a burglary case by arresting two accused persons involved in the crime. Stolen property worth lakhs of rupees was also recovered.

On 12-12-2019, Police Station Aishmuqam received a complaint regarding burglary in a residential house at Manzigam Aishmuqam in which Gold ornaments worth Lakhs and cash 60,000 were stolen.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 51/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Aishmuqam and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, officers were able to identify one individual identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat resident of Mughal Bagh Wanpoh Kulgam. When the officer spoke to him, they learnt about his involvement in the crime. Officers during the investigation got to know that the stolen property was received by a jeweller Sheikh Suhan of West Bengal presently running a jewellery shop at Saraf Bazar Dangerpora, Anantnag.

Subsequently Police recovered stolen Gold ornaments from the jewellery shop and the receiver of stolen property was also arrested. Both the accused persons have been shifted to Police Station Aishmuqam where they remain in custody. Further investigation in the matter is in progress.

Awantipora police organizes one day workshop on Juvenile Justice Act

February 15: Awantipora police organized a one day workshop on Juvenile Justice Act at District Police Lines Awantipora.

The programme was attended by SSP Awantipora Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS, ADC Tral Shri Shabir Ahmad Raina-KAS, besides all DySsP, Assistant Public Prosecutor Awantipora, Tral & Pampora, ZEO Pampore & Awantipora, all SHOs and students of various schools were present.

On the occasion, civil, police officers and students delivered lectures on child rights & child protection, Juvenile Justice Act, Role of Police in Juvenile Justice and child protection services. They also highlighted several other aspects of the Juvenile Justice Act emphasizing the importance of implementing this act while dealing the juveniles in conflict with law.

Various questions were raised by the students during the programme on which the speakers as well as legal luminaries expressed their opinion.

At the conclusion of the programme, prizes were distributed among the best speakers, besides certificates were given to the students for their participation in the event.

Awantipora police thanked the participants for making it a successful event.
