September 03:`Continuing its drive against drug dealings in Sopore, Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Zindri Crossing intercepted an individual identified as Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Usmanabad Warpora Sopore. During checking, officers were able to recover 255 grams of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Bomia where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 69/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bomia and further investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
