April 05:Acting tough against the violators of Government orders, Police have fined violators for not wearing masks in Budgam.

A massive drive was conducted by Budgam police along with civil officers & various Municipal Committees of district Budgam against violators of Covid-19 SOPs. The drive was held at numerous vulnerable towns to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

311 violators were fined and fine to the tune of ₹29,850 was collected from them for not wearing masks in Budgam.

SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS said that the aim and objective of the drive is to ensure wearing of face masks and following other mandated SOPs, besides focussing on maintenance of hygienic environment. He also requested people of Budgam to adhere to the guidelines/SOPs with regard to Covid-19 and wear face masks whenever they venture out of their homes.```
