Srinagar Police arrests three drug peddlers; Psychotropic substances recovered


April 28:``Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Srinagar and recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.

Officers from Police Station Batamaloo acting on specific information arrested three drug peddlers from NR Colony Batamaloo. They have been identified as Ayaz Javid Parra son of Javid Ahmad Parra, Abid Sultan son of M. Sultan Sheikh both residents of Housing Colony Bemina and Sheikh Shairyaar Hussain son of Abdul Hameed Sheikh resident of Buchwara Dalgate. During checking, officers were able to recover 94 bottles of Codiene phosphate from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 53/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Batamaloo and further investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
