May 05:``Police in Kulgam recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

On 19/07/2020, PS Manzgam received a complaint from a person stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) had been kidnapped by one person namely Imran Gorsi @Abrar son of Mir Mohammad Gorsi resident of Yarikha DH Pora.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 34/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Manzgam and investigation was initiated.

An investigation team headed by SHO Manzgam under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora was constituted. Acting on specific leads, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person from Yarikha DH Pora Kulgam. He has been shifted to PS Manzgam where he remains in custody.

After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.

Swift action by police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.```
