June 10: Acting tough against social crimes, Police in Sopore have arrested 02 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.

Acting on specific information about gambling activities in the orchards of village Batsuma, a police party of PS Dangiwacha raided the specific site and arrested two gamblers on the spot. They have been identified as Irshad Ahmad Shah son of Muhammad Yousuf Shah and Javaid Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Razak Shah both the residents of Batsuma Rafiabad.

Officers have seized stake money of ₹15,000/-, playing cards and a mobile phone from the gamblers.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 67/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation set into motion.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.```
