Police arrests 02 drug peddlers in Budgam, contraband substances recovered


June 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Post Narbal during routine patrolling at Kawoosa Khalisa intercepted two persons in suspicious condition who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert police party. During search, 05 grams of Heroin like substance and 240 Spasmoproxyvon Plus capsules were recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Asif Nazir Rather son of Nazir Ahmed Rather resident of Archanderhama and Jehangir Ahmed Marazi son of Mohammad Sultan Mazrazi resident of Lawaypora Srinagar. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 85/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.```
