September 30: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police party of Police Station Khag during naka checking at Malpora Khag intercepted a person identified as Bilal Ahmad Mir son of Gh Mohi-u-din Mir resident of Kandoora Beerwah. During search, officers were able to recover 33grms of Charas like substance from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 56/22 under relevant section of law stands registered at Police Station Khag and investigation set into motion.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
