December 09:Police in collaboration with Narcotics Control Bureau Jammu (NCB) organised one day workshop on investigation of NDPS Cases with special focus on procedure and technicalities at District Police Lines Awantipora.

The workshop was inaugurated by SSP Awantipora Shri Ajaz Ahmed Zargar-JKPS. The NCB Team headed by Superintendent NCB Jammu, Shri Raj Kumar Shaw gave detailed insights of the Investigative procedures. The workshop was attended by SP DAR Awantipora, all SDPOs, SHOs I/C PPs and other investigating officers of District Police Awantipora.

The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the investigative skills and to achieve higher conviction rates in NDPS act cases. The workshop will refine the skills of officers and update their knowledge with latest techniques and acquaint with standard operating procedure to be adopted during investigation of cases.

On the occasion, SSP Awantipora stressed upon the essence of eradicating the drug menace and the role of vibrant and conviction-based investigation in achieving the goal. He also stressed upon investigating officers to reinvent themselves with the changing times and techniques and encouraged the officers to go hard at the drug mafia.

The resource person of NCB Team gave detailed presentation over NDPS Act, PIT NDPS and Financial Investigations. Different chapters of NDPS Act were discussed and a detailed question answer session was held. At the end, the NCB team was thanked for the valuable deliberation and assured that in future joint workshops/seminars will be also proposed/conducted.```
