600 banned drugs tablets recovered in Rajouri, peddlers arrested


Rajouri February 10: Under the aegis of “Operation Sanjeevani” Jammu and Kashmir police in District Rajouri arrested two youth following a recovering of consignment of banned drugs/tablets from their possession.

A team of police headed by SHO Rajouri intercepted two youth at Abdullah Bridge; Gujjar Mandi, Rajouri and recovered 60 strips of banned drug (tramadol/ tependadole) from their possession following which duo have been arrested.

The duo accused persons have been identified as Shahbaz Ahmed S/O Niaz Ahmed & Yasir Lone S/O Mohd Shafi; both Residents of Ward No.2,Rajouri.

Notably, a formal criminal case under FIR No. 54/2024 U/S 8/20/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri.

Operation Sanjeevani aims at digging both Forward & Backward linkages of NDPS recovery during the investigation.

Police in Rajouri district has arrested dozens of narcotic peddlers in last couple of months as they were found involved in peddling of narcotics and banned drugs with recovery have been made from their possession.

Under zero tolerance policy towards drugs abuse, a number of notorious drug peddlers have also been detained under PIT NDPS Act in the district.
