Range Police Headquarters Jammu organised a Volleyball tournament in Jourian (Akhnoor) in which 08 teams participated.

The said tournament was conducted under Civic Action Programme 2023-2024 in Govt. Girls High School Jourian of Tehsil Akhnoor under the aegis of Dr.Sunil Gupta-IPS, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range and overall supervision of Staff officer to DIG Jammu Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP.

The tournament started with the welcome of the Chief guest Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP, Staff Officer to DIG JSK Range, Jammu and guest of Honour Sh. Daljeet Singh Chib ji, Ex Vice President Kissan Board and Sh. Bushan Bral ji, DDC Bhalwal Brahmna.

A total of 7 matches were played, in first match Team Gurha Brahmna beat Volleyball team Devipur, in second match Team Chanderbagha Hr.Sec School Akhnoor beat Volleyball team Muthi Maira, in third match Team Govt. Hr.Sec School Jourian beat Volleyball team Garkhal, in fourth and last league match Team Manchack Club Jourian beat Volleyball team Muthi Jourian.

In the Semi-finals Team Gurhabrahmna beat Team Chanderbagha Hr. Sec. School Akhnoor and in second semi-final Team Manchack Volleyball Club beat Team Govt. Hr. Sec. School Jourian.

In the final match, Team Manchack Club Jourian registered its win by beating Gurha Brahmna Volleyball Team.

While addressing media, SO to DIG JKS Range shared that the main motive of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to organizing such tournament is to encourage youth to stay away from drugs, negative influence, bad company and to maintain polar bond between police and youth, so that youth energy is channelized in better way.

Several prominent persons, general public from different places were also present to boost the morale of the Players and appreciated the efforts of Jammu & Kashmir Police for organising such a tournament.

Dy.SP Raman Kumar ADO RPHQ Jammu, SDPO Akhnoor Sh. Mohan Lal Sharma, SHO Akhnoor Zaheer Mushtaq distributed Cash Prize/Trophies/ volleyball to Winner and Runner up teams and certificates to all the participants and congratulated all the teams for their efforts.

On the ocassion IC PP Jourian ASI Somraj, IC PP Pallanwala ASI Raj Singh and the team of CAP members from RPHQ, Jammu ASI Tarsem Lal, ASI Jasvir Singh, SgCt. Sudesh Sharma, Surjeet Singh and Shashi Kumar were also present in the venue for smooth functioning of the tournament.
