February 10: Continuing its unwavering efforts to bridge the gap between police & public, Police facilitated Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Police Station Sopore.
The meeting was chaired by SP Sopore Smt. Divya D-IPS and was attended by respectable citizens including Market associations, Auqaf Bodies, youth and other representatives in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore.
The participants appreciated the police for organising of events which provides an opportunity for the general public to highlight the important issues like drug abuse, domestic violence, traffic jams, shortage of drinking water etc. All the grievances put forth by attendees were heard patiently and were assured by the chairing officer that all the grievances pertaining to police will be dealt as per law and remaining grievances will be taken up with the concerned departments for early redressal.
While addressing the participants, SP Sopore urged upon the need for strengthening the Police public relations and also sought their active cooperation in eradicating all types of crime from the society so that a peaceful and crime free atmosphere is created in the area. Further cooperation was sought from the participants regarding the importance of co-operation of people with Police in maintaining law and order and in identifying anti-Social elements who try and disrupt peace.
On the occasion, SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, SHO police station Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad and In-charge PP Fruit Mandi PSI Bilal Rashid were also present.```
