Kishtwar Police Crackdown: Two Notorious Bootleggers Apprehended, 79 Bottles of Illicit Liquor Seized

Kishtwar, Feb. 19: In a commendable effort to combat the illegal trade of liquor, District Police Kishtwar have made significant strides with the arrest of two notorious bootleggers and the seizure of 79 bottles of illicit JK Desi Whiskey.

A police party from PS Kishtwar, led by Inspector Firdous Ahmed, under ther supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Dr. Ishan Gupta acted upon information related to the sale of illicit liquor in the Kuleed area. Upon raiding the suspected shop, 79 bottles of illicit liquor of JK Desi Whiskey were recovered, and arrests were made on the spot. The apprehended individuals have been identified as Rajinder Singh, son of Hukam Chand, resident of Kuleed, and Naveen Kumar, son of Roshan Lal, resident of Thakrie Kishtwar.

In this regard, a case has been registered under FIR No. 48/2024 under sections 48(a) and 48(f) of the Excise Act at PS Kishtwar, and investigations has been initiated.
