February 19: Police in Kulgam have arrested two gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.

Acting promptly upon a specific information regarding gambling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam, a police party led by SHO Police Station Kulgam raided the suspected place near Adapora, Kulgam and arrested 02 persons on spot. The accused persons have been identified as Javid Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rehman Wani resident of Rangrez Pora, Kulgam and Mohd Maqbool Ganie son of Ghulam Qadir Ganie resident of Larkipora, Kulgam.

Officers have seized stake money of Rs 12800/- and two sets of playing cards from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 19/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.

People found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.```
