Anantnag, 28 March: District Police Anantnag continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the Menace of Drugs from the society, arrests three Drug Peddlers and recovered Narcotic substance from their possession.

Police party from PP Sangam laid down a naka near Tulkhan Crossing Sangam and intercepted one Santro vehicle bearing registration number JK03B-1781 during search of the vehicle police party recovered about 17 Kgs of Poppy Straw from the said vehicle. Three persons boarding in the Vehicle identified as Sajad Ahmad Dass S/O Mohd Sultan Dass, Javid Ahmad Mantoo S/O Wali Mohd Mantoo both residents of Waghama Bijbehara and Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh S/O Nazir Ahmad Sheikh R/O Tulkhan Bijbehara were arrested and contraband as well as vehicle used for the commission of crime seized.

In this regard a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation taken up.
