April 02: Police in Baramulla have arrested 05 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards of Shajimarg, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg raided the specific spot and apprehended 05 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹ 17910/- & playing cards from their possession. They have been identified as Mohammad Yaseen Parray son of Bashir Ahmad Parray resident of Goigam, Mohammad Ashraf Rathi son of Ab Ahad resident of Gutlipora, Gh Mohd Bhat son of Ab Jabbar Bhat resident of Chanpora, Aijaz Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Rahman resident of Kralseer & Nayeem Ahmad Sheikh son of Ab Majeed resident of Pinjoora Kunzer. They have been shifted to Police Station Tangmarg where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tangmarg and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.```
