JAMMU POLICE (SOUTH ZONE) RECOVERED 08 VEHICLES AND PROPERTY WORTH ABOUT 21 LACS IN LAST ONE MONTH


Jammu, 21: Working under the aegis of Operation AVTAR (Anti-Vehicle Theft and Recovery) and Meghdoot, to curb motor vehicle theft, burglary and other thefts, South Zone Jammu police has been able to achieve considerable results by the work put in by Sh. Sudhir Sadhotra (SHO Gandhinagar), Sh. Sushil Sharma (SHO Satwari) and Sh. Harmohindar Singh (SHO Gangyal), under the supervision of Sh. Kartik Shrotriya-IPS (SDPO Gandhinagar), Sh. Ajay Sharma-JKPS (SP South Jammu) and guidance of Sh. Vinod Kumar-IPS (SSP Jammu).

Special police teams of Jammu Police in sub-divison South did strenuous with the help of human intervention and technical assistance was able to recover 08 vehicles stolen and property worth about 21 lacs in last 30 days. The total value of recovery was around Rs. 30 Lacs.

The details of the recoveries are as following:
Under PS Gandhinagar:
• Recovery of gold ornaments worth about Rs. 9 Lacs as reported stolen: On 25-02-2024 an applicant namely Bhavish Mehta R/o Reshamgarh Colony Jammu produced a written complaint regarding theft in his Jewellery Store Talla jeweller at Auqaf Market Gandhi Nagar.
On this case FIR No.44/2024 U/S 381 IPC got registered and investigation started. During investigation as per the contents of FIR one alleged person namely Viney Kumar Chouhan resident of, Geeta Colony Jalandhar (servant of said jeweller shop) got arrested and during enquiry his involvement found in said theft and as per the disclosure of said accused I/O ASI Satpaul Sharma along with team recovered 12 tolas gold worth Rs. 09 lakh from Muthoot Finance Company Jalandhar Punjab.

• Recovery of 3 bikes by PP Nehru Market: On 08- 03- 2024, a written complaint was lodged by Ramesh Kumar R/o Kirpalpur, Phallian Mandal regarding the theft of his splendor motorcycle bearing registration. No JK02BJ- 8722 by some unknown thieves from Bikram Chowk, Warehouse. On receiving the complaint case FIR No. 58/2024 U/S 379 IPC was registered in PS Gandhinagar and investigation was started.
During the course of investigation, Police Party of Police Post Nehru market under incharge Police Post Sub Inspector Sh. Ajesh Jamwal rounded up one suspect namely Mohd Akram @Akri R/O Kheriyaan Tehsil Gole Gujral Jammu and on his disclosure, motorcycle bearing registration no JK02BJ-8722 has been recovered and seized in the instant case. Moreover, two more Splendor motorcycles bearing Chasis no. and engine nos MBLHA10A3EHC26481 HA10ELEHC53477 and MBLHA10BFH103839 HA10ELEHJ34085 have been recovered on his disclosure which were also seized u/s 102 CrPC.

• Recovery of Auto worth more than Rs. 2 Lacs: On 11.01.2024 a case fir no. Case FIR no. 11/2024 u/s 379 IPC was registered against the theft of auto jk08-9072 lodged by one Rishi Pal Singh R/o Nanak Nagar Jammu which was parked by the said Rishi Pal Singh outside his residence on 25.12.2023. The Investigation officer during the course of investigation rounded up certain suspects, during sustained questioning the stolen vehicle was recovered on the disclosure of accused person namely Sunny Kumar.

• Theft worth Rs. 2 Lacs solved by PS Gandhinagar in less than 24 hours: On 17/04/2023 one person namely Rohit Puri R/o Nanak Nagar, Jammu came to the PS to report that during the intervening night of 16-17 April 2024 some unknown persons trespassed in his house and stole one mobile phone, two smartwatches and cash 5,000/-. On this application case FIR No. 84/2024 u/s 457/380 IPC got registered and after analysis of CCTV and with the help of human intelligence on 17/04/2024 itself, one person namely Arun Bhandari r/o Valmiki Colony, Jammu got arrested and he confessed his involvement in the
instant case and on his disclosure the stolen property was recovered totalling about Rs. 2 Lacs in value.

• Recovery of Stolen bullet motorcycle and two scooties from PS Gandhinagar jurisdiction

PS Gangyal:
• One thief arrested and stolen Machinery worth Rs 6.50 lacs recovered: On 05.04.24 a complaint was lodged by Nikhil Kuamr R/O Channi Himmat Jammu that on 04.04.24 some unknown thieves had entered in Dashmesh Polymers Industries Gangyal and stolen some machinery parts from there. On this a case FIR No. 34/24 U/S 457/380/ IPC was registered at P/S Gangyal. After this special teams of P/S Gangyal were constituted. The team headed by SHO P/S Gangyal Inspr. Harmohinder Singh after hectic efforts and based on human and technical inputs, arrested one suspect, namely Sandeep Singh r/o Nandwal Raipur, Satwari. During sustained questioning, accused person confessed his involvement in the instant incident and his disclosure, below mentioned items were recovered: 12 Heater Plate, 03 Power Jack, and 01 Motor. Total cost of the above-mentioned recovered items is Rs. 6.50 lac (approx).

• One thief arrested and stolen items worth ₹ 1.5 lacs recovered: On 16.04.24 a complaint was lodged by Sonu Kumar R/O Gangyal Jammu that on 16.04.24 some unknown thief entered in his Shop Gangyal and stolen some items from there. On this a case FIR No. 38/24 U/S 457/380/ IPC was registered at P/S Gangyal. After this special team of PP Greater Kailash was constituted. The team headed by PSI Puneet Sharma In-Charge Police Post Greater Kailash after hectic efforts and based on human and technical inputs, arrested one suspect, namely Arun Mehta r/o Sainik colony. During sustained questioning, accused person confessed his involvement in the instant incident and his disclosure, below mentioned items were recovered: One laptop, one mobile phone, Tabacco items, cigarettes etc. Total cost of the above-mentioned recovered items is Rs. 1.5 lac (approx).

PS Satwari:
• Recovery of Stolen motorcycle within 24 hours: Theft case FIR No. 70/2024 u/s 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Satwari after getting complaint of theft, when unknown individuals stole vehicle JK 02 AW 528 (Black Pulsar) from Gadigarh. The police post team of PP Gadigarh then set about investigating the case and rounded up possible suspect for questioning. During this, accused persons namely Sushil Kumar @ Raju R/o Simbal and Vicky kumar r/o RS Pura were rounded up. After sustained questioning of the accused, the stolen Pulsar has been recovered from the Manguchak area adjoining to Miran Sahib.
