May 07:`Police in Budgam have solved a theft case by arresting 2 accused persons and recovered stolen property from their possession.

PS Chadoora received a written application from Mehraj-u-din Matta son of Manzoor Ahmad Matta resident of Nai Sadak Habbakadal Srinagar stating therein that during the intervening night of 30th April/1st May 2024 some unknown thieves have stolen 96 XCMG drilling Rods at Madbal Sogam crossing. On the receipt of this complaint, case FIR No. 57/24 under relevant sections of law was registered and the investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation, many suspects were questioned and during questioning, two suspected persons namely Mubarak Hussain Khatana son of Mohd Bashir Khatana resident of Seela Reasi and Shahzad Ahmad Gakhar son of Mohd Haneef Gakhar resident of Thanamandi Rajouri confessed their involvement in the commission of crime.

On their disclosure, stolen 96 XCMG drilling Rods along with a truck bearing registration No. JK02AQ 8275 used in commission of crime were recovered. Both the accused have been arrested.

Further investigation is going on.```
