Rajouri Police Attaches Property Worth 50 Lakhs


Jammu, May 21st, 2024:- In a significant action against the drug menace, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri district have attached the property of a notorious drug peddler, Mohd Shakoor alias Shakoora, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Dhani Dhar Rajouri. The attached property, a residential complex valued at approximately 50 lakhs, was seized under Sections 68(E) and 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Mohd Shakoor is a well-known drug peddler in the area, with accusations in ten First Information Reports (FIRs) registered across various police stations in Rajouri district under the NDPS Act. He is currently under judicial custody in connection with Case FIR No. 44/2024 registered at Police Station Thanamandi under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
It is noteworthy that Shakoor was previously detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in December 2022. However, after his release in September 2023, he resumed his drug trafficking activities, leading to his subsequent arrest by Rajouri Police in another drug-related case in Thanamandi.
This attachment of property serves as a stern warning to all drug dealers that their illegal activities will not be tolerated and their assets will be seized. The action was executed by a team of police officers along with an Executive Magistrate.
