Ramban 06 July: Cracking down heavily on Narcotics smuggling under *Operation Sanjeevani* Jammu and Kashmir police in District Ramban foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid in Banihal area and arrested two persons with Herione like substance.
A police party of Police Station Banihal while conducting routine vehicle checking at T Chowk Banihal intercepted two pedestrians who were coming from Railway station Banihal Towards Banihal town and upon seeing the police Naka party tried to run away but were apprehended by the Naka Party.
On questioning they disclosed their identity as 1. Muneeb Farooq Shiekh son of Farooq Ahmed resident of Chareel Tehsil Banihal District Ramban 2. Yasir Ahmed son of Farooq Ahmed resident of Birnihaal Tehsil Pogal paristan District Ramban.
During the process of checking Heroine like substance approximately 04 grams was recovered from their possessions.
A case FIR No. 113/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS registered at PS Banihal.
The accused persons have been arrested on the spot and contraband seized, investigation of the case is going on to prove backward and forward linkages.
