March 02: One person was arrested by Bandipora police during a naka checking at Wangipora following an action against those involved in drug peddling in Kulgam.

One person identified as Amir Rashid Sheikh son of Ab Rashid Sheikh resident of Shilvat was arrested for the drug offences has been taken to Police Station Sumbal where he remain in custody.

This is a part of proactive action initiated by Bandipora police against the drug peddlers of North Kashmir.

Officers have seized 160 bottles of codeine phosphate and 42 strips of Spasmoproxyvan tablets from his possession.

Case FIR No 35/2019 under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation has been taken up.
