February 07: ```Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Ganderbal has arrested a drug peddler and seized contraband substance from his possession.

Officers from Police Station Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler identified as Sajad Ahmed Gasi resident of Saloora Ganderbal. Officers have recovered contraband substance including charas and poppy powder from his possession.

A case FIR No. 14/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal. He has been shifted to Police Station Ganderbal where he remains in custody.

Initial investigation of the case reveals that the accused was selling contraband drugs to the youth of the Ganderbal.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.```
