*April 29:* ```Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Awantipora arrested 02 drug peddlers and seized contraband substance from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Batagund crossing intercepted two persons riding on a motorcycle bearing registration number DL6SAR-6644. They have been identified as Javid Ahmad Lone and Asif Manzoor Bhat both residents of Lurow Jageer Tral. Officers during checking were able to recover 170gms of charas from their possession.

Case FIR No. 34/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral and investigation in the matter has been initiated. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Tral where they remain in custody. The motorcycle used in the commission of crime has also been seized

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
