March 02:Continuing its drive against illegal sand excavators for the protection of environment and natural resources, police have arrested two persons and seized a vehicle in Ganderbal.

A police party from PS Kheer Bhawani headed by SHO PS Kheer Bhawani arrested two persons for illegal extraction of sand from Nallah Sindh at Ganderbal and have also seized a tipper bearing registration NO. JK04-6987 loaded with illegally extracted sand. The accused persons have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Shafi Mir resident of Gangerhama and Parwaiz Ahmad Sheikh son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh resident of Shalabok. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.


Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.13/21 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kheer Bhawani and further investigation has been taken up
