May 02:`Acting tough against social crimes, Baramulla Police have arrested three gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money.

Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities, a police party from Police Station Pattan raided a gambling site at Poshwani and apprehended three gamblers. They have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Gojree son of Abdul Satar Gojree, Javaid Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi both the residents of Pattan and Mehraj-ud-Din Ganai son of Wali Mohammad Ganai resident of Jamia Mohalla Pattan.

Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹5750/- from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.```
