June 03: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 03 drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered huge quantity of contraband substances from their possession.

Police Station Litter received a specific information through reliable sources that one person namely Gh. Mohd Malik Son in law of Wali Mohd Malik resident of Nownagri Chandgam has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.

On receipt of this information, a Police party from Police station Litter alongwith Executive Magistrate Lassipora Pulwama raided the specific location. During search, officers were able to recover 5kgs of Charas and 15Kgs of Poppy Straw from the said house and 03 drug peddlers were also arrested on the spot. They have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Lone son of Wali Mohd resident of Ferozpur Rafiabad Sopore, Gh Mohidin Bhat son of Gh Hassan Bhat resident of Kulpora Lithermund & Ab Ahad Ganie son of Gh Mohd Ganie resident of Tahab. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Litter and further investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
