March 09:* ```Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Station Rajpora at a checkpoint established at Kalampora Rajpora intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK22C-1549 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Inam Hussin Malik son of Hameed-ullah-Malik and Mohd Nigeen Malik son of Mohd Maqbool Malik, both residents of Malik Mohalla Balopra Shopian. During checking, 45 bottles Codeine Phosphate were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Besides vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 18/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station and investigation is in progress.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
