Srinagar, 06 October: The Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel continue the saga of sacrifices while performing their duties for the safety of its people.

Today evening a political worker was fired upon by terrorists at his village Nunar Ganderbal when he was going to his safe cluster accompanied by his PSO Ct Altaf Hussain at Kangan after spending day with his family.

The attack was retaliated by his PSO and the terrorist involved was killed by PSO. The PSO too was injured in the terrorist fire. Injured PSO was brought to a Srinagar hospital where he succumbed. The terrorist is identified as Shabir of Pulwama.

The martyred PSO Ct. Altaf Hussain a resident of Eidgah Srinagar had joined the police department in the year 2011 and was posted with the protected person from last three months. He is survived by parents, wife and one and years old son.

The Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has paid rich tribute to the courage and valour of the brave heart martyr Ct. Mohd. Altaf Hussain. He has said that the department is proud of such gallant Jawans.
